Ontario unveils a new route that follows Champlain's historic voyage
The Ontario Government unveiled a new tourist route to be opened in 2018 to relate the voyage Samuel de Champlain made in Ontario. The route will be 1500 kilometers long and will put the spotlight on francophone culture and heritage.
Some highlights of the path :
- Outdoor adventures reminiscent of Champlain's experiences on Ontario's waterways.
- Cultural and heritage sites that celebrate Ontario's Francophone regions, cities and villages.
- Experiences that commemorate 400 years of the French presence in Ontario.
- Places of remembrance and history directly related to Champlain.
