a new service for the prescott-russell population : a series of FREE WORKSHOPS

on current employment issues

Hawkesbury, September 1, 2016 – The Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) is proud to announce that as of September it will be offering a new service to the Prescott-Russell population: a series of free workshops made available to anyone interested in the specific subjects covered. Themes and content of these workshops have been carefully chosen to inform participants, but more importantly, to supply them with unique tools and resources that are aimed at optimizing their performance with their job search activities.

“We have been thinking about this project for some time, but we wanted to make sure we supplied our population with some current and relevant topics before moving forward,” said André Roy, Executive Director for the Employment Services Centre. “In this first series of workshops, we will cover social networks and job search, as well as familiarize youth aged from 18 to 29 years old with the local labour market and help people who are 50+ with their job search. The series also includes two workshops where selected local employers will be invited to share their vision of the hiring process with participants,” added Mr. Roy. “All workshops have been built to supply participants with unique resources and additional tools to help them better perform in various aspects of their job search. We believe we have put together strong workshops that, although aimed at specific groups, meet with the needs of our local population to whom we want to give additional information on very current subjects pertaining to employment. We certainly hope that our population will respond favourably to this new initiative from the Centre, and that many participants sign up for the various workshops we prepared for them,” concluded Mr. Roy.

The new workshop series offered by CSEPR includes a total of 7 events to be held from September to November 2016. A complete schedule of workshops and activities is available on the Centre’s website, as well as detailed data sheets for each workshop. Registration to attend any workshop is mandatory and can be done directly on-line by clicking the calendar on the home page or by visiting the “events” section of the website (csepr.ca)
