THE CSEPR JOB FAIR IS BACK IN PRESCOTT-RUSSELL
Hawkesbury, January 18th, 2013 – It's with great enthusiasm and pride that the Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) announced today that its 2nd edition of the Job Fair will be held next March in Prescott-Russell. For the 2013 edition, the event will shine in our community thanks to the important financial contribution of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, as well as that of the Eastern Ontario Training Board and the participation of the Compagnie d'Édition André Paquette Inc. Furthermore, and as a first this year, both the cities of Hawkesbury and Rockland will in turn be hosting this important event for the region. Thus, both job seekers and employer-exhibitors will get to meet during these events scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd at La Cité Golf Club in Hawkesbury and Saturday, March 9th at Outaouais Golf Club in Rockland. All visitors are admitted free of charge to both events.
"The holding of such events is essential to our region because they demonstrate that our regional economy is good, but they also show younger workers, as well as older ones, that local jobs do exist," said André Roy, General Manager for the Employment Services Centre. "But, in addition to promoting regional employment, these events also serve to encourage more specialized and younger workers to stay in the area, or even come back to our towns and villages," concludes Mr. Roy.
For employers, this type of event represents a unique way to meet potential candidates that can fill their positions, but also an opportunity to gather résumés that can later be used to fill vacancies. These facts certainly explain why several employers are repeating the experience this year, along with new ones who will participate for the first time. "It's my 2nd participation in the Job Fair organized by the Employment Services Centre, and this year, I am even taking part in both events," said Sylvain Gariépy, Factory director for Muskoka Cabinets. "The first edition allowed me to fill all the positions I had available, and even more. The quality and the quantity of job seekers that attended was remarkable, and the overall experience was very valuable to our company," to conclude Mr. Gariépy.
In order to continually improve our customer service, this year the Centre developed a specific section of its website entirely dedicated to the Job Fair. This section will reflect the overall theme used to promote the event and will allow job seekers as well as employers to get a regular update in regards to the event. Whether it's a listing of positions available for job seekers, or the directives to register for the event as an exhibitor for employers, everything will be there. So regularly visiting this specific section of the website is a must if you need to learn all the details and news in regards to the Job Fair. The website address to remember is: www.csepr.ca/foire-emploi.
Although booths for employer-exhibitors are being booked very rapidly, it's still possible for Prescott-Russell companies to make reservations for this event. To do so, they should contact Murielle Huneault-Pilon, Job Developer at CSEPR, at 613.632.0179 for the Hawkesbury event and for the Rockland, Carolyne Gagnon, Job Developer at CSEPR, at 613.446.4189.
