The 3rd Edition of the Job Fair is back in Prescott-Russell
Hawkesbury, December 4th, 2013 – It’s with great enthusiasm and pride that the Employment Services Centre (CSEPR) announced today that its 3rd edition of the Job Fair will again be held next March in Prescott-Russell. For the 2014 edition, the event will shine in our community thanks to the important financial contribution of the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation (PRCDC), as well as that of the Eastern Ontario Training Board and the participation of the Compagnie d’Édition André Paquette Inc., the municipalities of Hawkesbury, Clarence-Rockland and East Hawkesbury, as well as the Hawkesbury Industrial Investment Association and the Hawkesbury Chamber of Commerce. Again this year, both the cities of Rockland and Hawkesbury will in turn be hosting this important event for the region. Thus, both job seekers and employer-exhibitors will get to meet during these events scheduled for Saturday, March 1st at the River Rock Inn in Rockland and Saturday, March 8th at the Hawkesbury Regional Catholic High School in Hawkesbury. All visitors are admitted free of charge to both events.
“This year, our events have been moved to bigger locations. This decision was made further to comments received from job seekers who wanted the opportunity to meet with more employers. Thus, we aim at having 70 employers total registered for both events. This means a more diversified number of positions available offered to our community by those employers participating. Furthermore, in addition to regular positions, we aim at having student jobs as well,” added André Roy, Executive Director for the Employment Services Centre. “We firmly believe that these events are essential to our economy, not only because they contribute in promoting regional employment, but also because they show everyone that there are interesting job opportunities in our towns and villages,” to conclude Mr. Roy.
“It’s no secret, the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation doesn’t hesitate in investing in important economic projects for the region”, said John Candie, Executive Director for the PRCDC. “And, for us, the 2014 CSEPR Job Fair was a strategic choice to complement all other actions we contribute to in our community. It’s our way of demonstrating our support to this important event for Prescott-Russell for which we are very proud to be the main partner this year”, concluded Mr. Candie.
For employers, this type of event represents a unique way to meet potential candidates that can fill their positions, but also an opportunity to gather résumés that can later be used to fill vacancies.
As a major novelty this year, the Centre’s 13 road signs located in the counties will also be dressed up for the fair, this action aims at supporting the vast media campaign that surrounds the event. And, once again, the Centre developed a specific section of its website entirely dedicated to the Job Fair. This section will reflect the overall theme used to promote the event and will allow job seekers as well as employers to get a regular update in regards to the event. Whether it’s to find out which employers will attend or to see a listing of available positions for job seekers, or the directives to register for the event as an exhibitor for employers, everything will be there. So visiting regularly this specific section of the website is a must to learn all the details and news in regards to the Job Fair. The website address is: www.csepr.ca/foire-emploi.
The Centre invites all employers interested in taking part in the event to contact us to book their space. To do so, they should call for Rockland, France Gareau, Job Developer and Placement Agent at 613.446.4189 and for Hawkesbury, Murielle Huneault-Pilon, Job Developer at CSEPR, at 613.632.0179.
