Hawkesbury, October 23rd, 2014 – Last October 16th and 17th, the Employment Services Centre was present at the National Job Fair held at Place Bonaventure, Montreal. This participation was in support to the cities of Hawkesbury and Clarence-Rockland, and resulted in a remarkable impact towards the Montreal population, and a true interest for some to relocate in our beautiful area.

“Our Job Developers estimate having met with approximately 1400 people during these 2 days, to whom they spoke of Prescott-Russell and its opportunities”, says André Roy, Executive Director for the CSEPR. “We were well prepared for this participation where we presented our current job bank. Previous efforts had been done by the Centre and its Job Developers with local employers in regards to obtaining more specific positions to bring to the fair. The high level of skilled candidates we met at the National Job Fair was quite impressive, and after only a few days of being there, we already have received nearly twenty résumés through the Centers’ website.  This number, when added to the résumés that our Job Developers brought back with them, comes up to more than 100 new potential candidates in various fields that would possibly be willing to relocate to our region. Thus, we send out an invitation to employers who are seeking good candidates to contact our Job Developers. Who knows, maybe we have for them the one candidate that perfectly fits their requirements!” concluded Mr. Roy.

The initiative to participate in the National Job Fair in Montreal was that of Élargir l’espace francophone and aimed at promoting to the Montreal population the beautiful region of Eastern Ontario, including its opportunities and the strength of its francophone community. The group present at the event included the cities of Hawkesbury, Clarence-Rockland, Casselman, Russell and Cornwall as well as the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) and the Employment Services Centre.

Employers seeking qualified candidates are invited to contact the Employment Services Centre’s Job Developers. For Prescott, Murielle Huneault Pilon, at 613.632.0179, and for Russell, France Gareau, at 613.446.4189.
