HAWKESBURY - For the second consecutive year, Eastern Ontario will be represented at the Natioanl Job Fair in Montreal which will be held next October 16 and 17 at Place Bonaventure. This year, a consortium was created in an effort to maximize the impact on visitors of the Job Fair and the Montreal population in order to promote the Prescott-Russell region and its opportunities, as well as the strength of its fracophone community. This project was initiated by Élargir l'espace francophone and includes the municipalities of Hawkesbury, Calrence-Rockland and Casselman, the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de L'Est ontarien (CSDCEO) and the Employment Services Centre (CSEPR).

"Participation in this Job Fair by the Employment Services Centre follows an invitation received from the cities of Hawkesbury and Clarence-Rockland who requested our support in regards to employment opportunities available in the region," said André Roy, Exective Director for the CSEPR.

"We gladly accepted the invitation. This opportunity is an excellent occasion to promote our region to a vast population of individuals who might be interested in moving to our area. Along with bringing skills that are rare or non-existent in our conties, we will also contribute into improving our local economy. And with this in mind, we are sending out an invitation to all employers of Presott-Russell who have - or expect to have - some specific positions they want to fill, to contact our Job Developers. Along with the Centre's regular Job Bank, we hope to bring to the National Job Fair specialized job opportunities for which local candidates are rare," concluded Roy.

"We are glad to participate in the National Job Fair in Montreal", stated Marcel Guibord, Mayor of the City of Clarence-Rockland. Being at the heart of economic development in Eastern Ontario, the City of Clarence-Rockland is a bilingual community where commerce is expanding, thus creating more job opportunities.

An invitation is being sent out to Prescott-Russell employers who have positions to fill and who would like to receive free support from the Employment Services Centre, to please contact these Job Developers : Murielle Huneault Pilon, Job Developer for Prescott at 613.632.0179 and France Gareau, Job Developer for Russell, at 613.446.4189.
